Landlords should modernise their properties for the Influencers
Tenants are increasingly making money by influencing. What is influencing? It's making money on social media platforms through advertising products and brands. Once you have 10,000 followers upwards on social media platforms such as Instagram: Influencers have a sufficient enough platform to speak their message, but also additionally earn revenue by advertising companies products/services in their videos/content. You can often find an Influencer releasing videos about their daily life but integrating it by un-boxing their newly sent trainers from Nike, or applying their favourite facial cream. Its advertising often subtly done. These savvy Influencers are being paid well and further benefit from receiving a steady stream of free prototypes and products.
Landlords and Social Influencers
So how and why is this important information for Landlords? Its an added reason why its worth investing in your property and making the presentation its best. Influencers desire high level furnishings and fittings in their lives and they will often pay a premium for it.
Influencers can often be self employed and its not uncommon for these entrepreneurial minded persons to work tirelessly from home. They are in many ways an on film walking/talking personal brand and their reputation is tremendously important. This is crucially helped and enhanced by the living environment that they are in. An Influencer's home must look its best (the whole world will see it on video). No tatty kitchens and bathrooms are permitted. Influencers are on the look out for a modern and comfortable space.
We encourage our Landlords to be open to this increasingly popular way for Tenants to earn income and afford to pay rent. Demonstrating affordability through referencing can present challenges as its harder to show a prediction of likely income unlike the traditional means of being employed etc. Influencers are aware and resilient to this challenge and are often organised, coming prepared with the ability to pay the rent 6 monthly or 12 monthly in advance throughout their tenancy.
